What’s the chemical composition of water? H₂O. There are other ways of expressing it but they all refer to two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

Define pi. While it’s numerical representation is an endless series of digits to the right of the decimal point, the value of pi itself is a constant.

There’s little argument about how to define these constants. Water is water. Pi is pi.
